Field Uniforms
Cadets are authorized to wear the Field Training Uniform (FTU) during some parade nights and squadron survival exercises. Headdress (the blue beret with the Air Cadet Hat insignia, baseball cap or wide-brimmed tan summer hat or toque) and cadet rank slip-ons shall be worn with the uniform.
Cadets can opt to wear appropriate civilian attire instead (without slip-ons or approved headdress).
Below is a generic kit list for Field Training Exercise (FTX)
Main Bag:
CLOTHING:
(if you do not have a field uniform, use appropriate civilian clothing)
2 Combat shirts
2 Combat pants
5 Undershirts
5 sets Underwear
1 Sweater – wool is preferable
1 winter jacket
1 Toque
1 Beret or Boonie Hat or Ball Cap
1 Raingear (jacket and pants or poncho)
7 pairs Socks inner
7 pairs Socks outer
1 pair Gloves
1 pair Combat Boots – Waterproof
1 pair of secondary footwear – Running Shoes
EQUIPMENT:
Hygiene kit
Canteen or water bottle (portable)
Cup or Mug (plastic for HOT drinks)
Knife (Pocket or Sheath, less than six inches)
Whistle (plastic)
1 Washcloth
Flashlight
Sleeping bag (with water proof stuff bag or Valise)
Small tarp or ground sheet
Garbage bags/ Dry Bag
Light twine/rope (For tying up shelters)
Lighter/matches/fire starter
Back pack (able to carry all your gear)
When in doubt, pack for the weather.
And remember, ONE MAN, ONE KIT
